1. First and foremost, recover your phone from whatever liquid it has been dropped into as fast as possible. If your phone has not switched off by itself, switch it off immediately. Slowly, slowly catches a monkey – do not switch the phone on or test the phone in any way whatsoever until it is absolutely dry, which usually takes from 2 – 4 days.
2. Then remove all the vital parts that may also consist of the battery, phone cover, SIM card, faceplate, memory disk and others items that can removed.
3. The next big step includes the removal of salt as soon as possible which means you actually need to re-submerge the phone in distilled water. This protects your phone against rust corrosion. Once again do not switch the phone on or test the phone in anyway whatsoever until completely dry.
4. Soak all the other parts in the distilled water. Ensuring that you do not soak the battery, SIM card and LCD screen (should it be separate for some reason).
5. Place the phone and parts in direct sunlight as you need the device to air dry for 2-4 days under direct sunlight. Once again do not switch the phone on or test the phone in anyway whatsoever until completely dry.
6. Should you need to speed the process up slightly, use an electronic parts cleaner instead of the distilled water. Make sure that the phone is completely dry before switching it on or testing the phone.
7. Last but not least, when the phone is completely dry and there is no moisture whatsoever left in the phone, put the phone on charge and test the device.
Remember, the more patience you have, the greater the chance of success.
